About the event
Democracy is often treated as something fixed — a system we inherit rather than one we actively shape. But our governing institutions are constantly influenced by laws, procedures, incentives, and decisions about power, participation, and accountability. This workshop invites participants to step into that process for themselves.
In What If You Could Rewrite the Rules?, participants take part in an interactive civic experience modeled on a modern-day constitutional convention. Working in small groups, participants will explore what changes they would make to our governing system — not in theory, but under real constraints. What problem are you trying to solve? What tradeoffs are you willing to accept? Who gains power, and who loses it?
Through guided discussion and collaborative exercises, participants will move beyond abstract political debate and engage directly with the structure of democracy itself. The workshop is designed not to produce consensus, but to deepen civic understanding, encourage…
